Expert Research Support, Backed by 14 Years in the Federal Sphere
Federal Research & Information Specialist — Washington, D.C. & Nationwide
Maman Research LLC helps nonprofits, law firms, businesses, local governments, and individuals find authoritative answers to questions they haven’t been able to solve on their own.
It's Not About Finding An Answer. It's About Finding The Right One.
Anyone can run a search. The harder part is knowing whether what you found is actually reliable, whether you’re missing something, and how to prove that you’ve looked everywhere you should.
That’s the work I do. I help nonprofits, law firms, small businesses, writers, local governments, and individuals track down authoritative information, verify what they’ve already found, and fill in the gaps they haven’t been able to close on their own.
If it doesn’t exist, I’ll tell you that too. I’d rather give you an honest answer than force one that isn’t there.
Federal Research & Information Specialist
For more than a decade, I’ve worked with Congress and the federal research community, helping people find, evaluate, and understand complex information.
Most people who come to me have already spent hours, or even weeks, searching for answers. My role isn’t to start from scratch. It’s to build on the work you’ve already done, uncover the information that’s still missing, and provide an honest assessment of what’s available, what isn’t, and where to go next.
My work is grounded in access to federal libraries, government institutions, and specialized research databases that aren’t always readily available to the public.
I am also a member of TRB’s Transportation Research Thesaurus Advisory Board and the Association of Independent Information Professionals (AIIP), a global community of businessowners who support one another through learning and expertise exchange.
Just as importantly, I believe in a transparent research process. You’ll understand not only what I found, but how I found it, which sources I consulted, and why I trusted them.
Good research isn’t just about finding information. It’s about finding information you can trust.
What I Help With
Every engagement starts with a conversation about your specific question. From there, the work usually falls into one of six areas:
Research Consultation
Sometimes a conversation is all you need to get unstuck. If you've been searching for weeks, hitting dead ends, or wondering whether an answer even exists, a research consultation is where we work through it together: what you're looking for, where it might live, and how confident you can be in what you find.
Custom Research
Tailored research projects built around your question. That might mean a one-time deep dive with a quick turnaround, or ongoing tracking of a topic over weeks or months, with updates delivered on the schedule you choose. Either way, you'll get the findings and the methodology behind them.
Legislative & Regulatory Research
Tracing how a law or regulation came to be, its versions, votes, and the literature written about it since. This is detailed, often painstaking work, and it's exactly what I've done in the federal sphere for more than a decade. Especially useful when a history hasn't been compiled anywhere yet.
Literature Reviews
Before you write, propose, or decide, it helps to know what already exists. A literature review pulls together the existing research and writing on your topic, weighted toward authoritative sources, so you can see what's established, what's contested, and where the gaps are.
Fact-Checking & AI Verification
AI can find things fast, but it can't reliably show you how it found them. I provide human-in-the-middle oversight: verifying AI-assisted findings against authoritative sources, confirming citations actually say what they claim, and flagging anything that doesn't hold up.
Document Delivery & Resource Access
You know the document exists, you just can't get to it. Whether it's at the National Archives, in a federal repository, or behind a subscription database you don't have, I can help track it down, double-check it, and retrieve it.
Who I Work With
Nonprofits, small businesses, individuals, law firms, writers, local governments, and organizations both domestic and international, anyone who needs authoritative information and doesn’t have easy access to federal-level research resources on their own.
A Few Things That Make This Different
Authoritative research
Every finding is grounded in trusted sources. If a source isn’t reliable or authoritative, I’ll tell you rather than relying on it.
Transparent methodology
You’ll know what I searched, which sources I consulted, and how I arrived at my conclusions.
Flexible support
I work beyond a traditional nine-to-five schedule, making it easier to collaborate across time zones and meet project deadlines.
Proactive communication
You’ll receive regular updates throughout your project, so you’re never left wondering about its progress.
What Clients Have Said
Clients often tell me they value not only the research itself, but also the transparency, communication, and care throughout the process.
